I am dreaming of a…Blue Tsunami….

It has been only four years since Trump was announced as the presumptive winner of the 2016 elections, but it feels like we have lived a lifetime in the last four years. It surely feels like I have become more and more anxious about the potential of Trump winning again. We all lived this anxiety and worked feverishly to do everything possible to avoid this nightmare. I and my two kids have joined sign-up rallies, wrote checks for state and local candidates, and got involved with various campaigns. My 16-year-old, Varoon Kodithala joined his high school friends started a podcast during the summer to spread awareness. I have taken up writing to write my citizen’s diaries on Medium and DailyKos. All of this, while running a small tech company, and being a single dad for two growing teenagers should have been taxing and nerve-wracking, but it was frankly the best investment of time for me. These engagements made me focus on action instead of anxiety, and involve myself in agencies that I do have control over instead of panicking about events that are outside of my realm of control.

I campaigned, I wrote, I consumed informative and thought-provoking content. Now, I am ready for the day of judgment.

As I turn in for the day, I feel hopeful for tomorrow. I feel that Biden will have a good night on Tuesday, November 3rd. I think he will win Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia outright. With all the early voting numbers we are seeing out of Texas, he might even fulfill the Democrats’ wet dream of turning Texas blue. After stressing for four years, I am giving myself permission to dream of a Blue Tsunami tomorrow.

I do realize Biden’s victory is the beginning, not the end. I understand that we have a long way to go and accept that we have a lot of ills to repair. We also have so many goals to accomplish in this new era.

We should get our country back to good health.

We should make our planet green.

We will make our country honest.

We will gain our respect back.

I am optimistic about the future, but I do understand that our nation should have never been in this position in the first place. We should never let a deceitful conman to lead our nation again. We should resolve the systemic, deep-rooted problems, once and for all.

There are so many hopes we can achieve if we can forego our differences and unify in common purpose. I think it’s possible under President Biden and Vice President Harris.

I guess I am dreaming, but I am going to give myself permission to do so tonight.

If you haven’t voted, please vote today. We all have the right to dream and Build Back Better.
